Lighting Design

Although the design of many of our smaller projects rarely go beyond a simple equipment listing, we prefer to work with clients from an early stage and provide a lighting design specifically suited to the particular needs of that production. Listed below are some of the pre-production rigging diagrams provided to assist theatrical productions.

When The Wind Blows

Designed By Steve Page

The use of a revolve, coupled with very high scenery and an expectation of minimal wing space severely limited the opportunities to achieve ideal rigging points for the on-stage lighting. In addition a special effect required the audience to be blinded by a very fast flash of light, to simulate the effect of a nuclear explosion. Lower powered floods were specified to aid the speed of the blackout following the "explosion" as 1000w lamp filaments would have taken too long to cool and diluted the effect.

With the production aiming for a regional tour, the lighting specification had to be suitably flexible to meet the technical specification available at a variety of venues without the need to tour large numbers of specialist lighting.
