A large array of lighting including 575w moving lights, 60 Par 64s and 40 1kw profiles supported the very high quality of production by this youth group. The show received critical acclaim from a wide variety of sources, such as: "Totally
awesome!" That is how I sum up last night's performance of Tread
the Boards' production of "Les Miserables - School Edition".

2007 - Dundee Youth Media Group Project led by Steve Page A repeat of the 2005 project. This involves our engineers working directly with young people over a period of six months, delivering instruction in video lighting, set design, video camera skills and video editing skills. Rehearsals and general instruction sessions used our normal DV cameras whilst the final production is filmed in HD and produced onto DVD. As well as gaining an insight into production skills, the young people gained accreditation for their efforts through the Duke Of Edinburgh's Award
2006: Showcase On The Street Lit by Bob Lamb three hundred performers in front of a thousand strong audience, and the second dance show supported by the Electric Company that day. We provided multiple 575w moving profiles and 575w moving wash lights together with an array of generic fixtures all controlled via an Avolite Pearl and our own operator for this highly successful one night showcase performance.
2006: Stobswell Crew Five Project Led by Steve Page Despite the name this involved working with six young people as they undertook a variety of events in the Stobswell area of Dundee during 2006. Assistance involved video and stage production work and even the production of a website for the group.
2006: Killer At Camp Project led by Steve Page Continuing our involvement with Youth Work and the Duke Of Edinburgh's Award in Dundee. (www.dundeeopenaward.co.uk)We Provided exterior and interior location lighting, power and specialised rigging for the filming of a short crime drama. This small project was a technical challenge in that the equipment had to withstand sub-zero temperatures and heavy snowfall, whilst due to site restrictions it had to be installed only two hours before the start of filming without allowing any footprints in the snow to be in view of the cameras.
2006: Dundee Schools Youth Music Initiative Lit by Steve Page For this one-off evening event we provided an engineer to design, rig and operate lighting using a venue's existing lighting rig
2005: Dundee Youth Media Group Project led by Steve Page This project involved our engineers working directly with young people over a period of six months, giving instruction in stage and video lighting, set design, video camera skills and video editing skills. As well as gaining an insight into production skills, the young people gained accreditation for their efforts through the Duke Of Edinburgh's Award (www.dundeeopenaward.co.uk)
Photos are taken at events as and when time and opportunities permit - clearly our first priority is to provide the best lighting production possible rather than take photos. If you particularly want photos taken at your event then we can certainly provide a skilled photographer - just let us know. |
